Similarities
A similarity between Fahrenheit 451 and The One Who Waits is the feeling of being trapped. In Fahrenheit 451 pretty much everyone lived the same way everyday. The kids would go to school and the adults would go to work or watch television. They were trapped in an endless loop. In The One Who Waits the souls of the people that died were trapped in the well and came out when people came around to trap them also.
Another similarity between Fahrenheit 451 and The One Who Waits is it takes place in the future. Fahrenheit 451 is the future without books. It's a story of it would be like if television took over and books became illegal. He showed that we need books and different ideas to be happy. The One Who Waits is when we have been to Mars. The story states that nothing had been living on Mars for 10,000 years. That leads us to think that we were aware of life on Mars for over 10,000 years, which is far ahead of our time. Humans also traveled to Mars in the story, which is something we are working on, but haven't achieved yet.
